Download and run the upgrade advisor first, especially for the laptop. Make
sure drivers are available from the manufacturer to support the system
hardware.
From 32-bit to 64-bit always requires a clean install. But Charlie said
"both are 64bit", so the upgrade should work fine in his case - but he
should follow Rick's advice and check it out first.
