The SP2 installation screwed up my system where it got stuck in the reboot
cycle. When I used the repair function on the XP CD-Rom the same happenned
so I installed a fresh OS & called it windows2. I managed to then repair the
original OS so now I have 2 OS & can start either however I think some of
software is gettting confused & will not run properly.

Can I uninstall one of the XP OS? If I can how?
If not how do I get to the C: prompt at start up so that I can format the
disc & start again?

I have searched around the net but not found any answers.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
Rob.

p.s. this is not a W98 upgrade to XP.

I'd suggest that you do a clean install. Boot with the XP CD and when you
get tot he screen that says that a Current Windows installation has been
found and asks if you want to attempt to repair just select the option to do
a clean or new install. Delete the partition and create a new partition.
Then format and the install will continue. Be forewarned that this will
delete all data currently on your hard drive so make certain you backup what
you want to keep to an external source like CD/DVD or another drive.
