Can I start OE Newsgroup Reader from within Outllok 2003?

I am wondering if there is a way to launch the "Outlook Express Newsgroup
Reader" from within Outlook 2003?

There is a way to launch Outlook Express, but not your default Newsgroup
reader (if different from outlook express).

Menu: Tools/Customize, Tab: Toolbar. On left pick "go", on right, find
"News". Drag that icon to a toolbar. Double ckick it and Outlook
Express will launch.

yes there is, just add a shortcut to the application in the Outlook bar.

Outlook 2003 doesn't have the "Outlook Bar" anymore. They replaced it
with the "Navigation Pane".

"Help" in Outlook says that the Short cut folder is where shotcuts that
you "previously added to the Outlook Bar for files or locations outside
of Outlook, such as Excel Files or Web sites, will be automatically
migrated to the Shortcuts pane when you upgrade to Office Outlook 2003.
I didn't upgrade on this machine to get Outlook 2003 so I can't see
any examples...fresh install. It's also not clear to me how to add new
shortcuts to files outside of Outlook. Tried with the "Add new shortcut"
wizard, but it only points to destinations inside of that Outlook
folder. Mystery to me ... but not something I'm going to pursue as I
keep all my shortcuts on Desktop and Start menu. Simpler. Just thought
I would pass on the observation.

Coincidently, I ran across a description of how to add shortcuts to
executables to the Outlook Navigation Pane. Just drag the shortcut
(from Desktop, Start Menu, or whatever) onto the Pane.
