Can I share Outlook across a home network? Both machines have out.

I do not have Microsoft Exchange Server e-mail account. But I would like to
be able to check my e-mails/contacts/etc... from both my upstairs and
downstairs computers which are linked via a LAN. Both PC's have xp; both
pc's have the full versions of Office 2003 already installed.

Can anyone help me on this?

UNSUPPORTED!!!

Create a folder on one of the PCs and share it to the network. With Outlook
closed, move your PST to the shared folder. Start Outlook. When it
complains it can't find the folders, browse to the shared folder, select
your PST and click OK. You'll now have access to them again. Close Outlook

On the other PC, rename your PST and start Outlook. When it complains it
can't find the folders, browse to the network share, select the PST and
click OK. Now the second PC will be able to see the same folders as the
first PC. You can then, if you wish, open the original PST on the second
machine and merge in any unique items you wish to keep from that PST.

Caution: you can't have Outlook open on both machines at the same time.

Because most often, the original location is in a user-specific folder and I
believe sharing such a folder would be a poor practice.
 
Thanks Brian, it worked perfectly!....NO MORE RUNNING UP AND DOWN THE
STAIRS!!!!!!!!!!!
