Can anyone offer a definitive answer on this. Am using WinXP-pro. Is there
a way to search for FOLDERs that have a specific name. For instance, find
all folders that have COMPANY as part of their name so it would bring back
something like this:

c:\JonesCompany\
c:\CompanyFiles\
c:\My Documents\OldCompany\
c:\Programs\Quickbooks\Company\

It's not files that I want...everybody knows how to search FILEs for
specific names (like *.doc, 19??.xls, etc.), but how do you search only
FOLDER names? Here's what I did so far, but nothing seems to isolate
FOLDERs:
Right click My Computer
Click Search
Click All files and folders
(unsure at this point, but... selecting that the "type of file" = FOLDER
does not work)

Thanks,
George

Simply open "Search" and type the word(s) you want and search. I did it, and folders with a specific name showed up in the search.

Thanks, it DOES search folders (when you click files and folders) and you
get files too... but I think it cannot ONLY search folders (and exclude the
files). Is this right?

So, the answer I think is....if you want to see the FOLDERS with the term
"Company" in them, and not the FILES with the term "Company", you just wait
until after the search is complete, then click the Name bar above the list
(which of course puts them in order...and groups the folders together at top
of the list), and simply "look" at the folders and ignore the files.

Does all this sound right?

Thanks,
George
