can i retrieve an unsaved document that i accidnetally closed out.

i was working on a very important paper and i was very close to finishing,
but then a popup POPPED UP of course and when i went to exit out of it i
double clicked i exited out of my paper and i had not yet saved it (stupid i
know). so now i am very upset that all of my work was lost. is there ANY way
for me to retrieve that document?

No. You can try reopening the program and see if it offers you a second
chance but I wouldn't count on that happening.

I don't know what kind of popup you got but the next time make sure you save
your file before you try to close something else.
 
If you didn't save it, there's nothing to recover. This should provide a
valuable lesson to save often!
