My OS is Win2000.
I tried to open a File with extension DL_ with WordPad.

I did something wrong!

Now all the files( more than hundred) with the extension DL_ have the
icons changed.

Once there were the classic Windows icons.
Now they have the WordPad icons and they alla open with WordPad.

Is there anyone who can help me restore the old icons for those files?

Thanks.

Mar,

I just simulated your problem and here is how I resolved it:

Open Windows Explorer.

Click the Tools menu, then Folder Options, then click the File Types tab.

Click New and enter the extension DL_.

The extension DL_ should appear on the file extension list with the
WordPad icon.

Select DL_ on the list and click the Restore button, if available.

You should see the icon return to the classic Windows icon (representing
no file association).

Select DL_ on the list and click the Delete button. This will remove the
empty association that you don't want in there anyway.

I hope that works.

GREAT!!
It's incredible!
You solved my problem!
Thanks.

But do you know only these things or a lot more?
I have a really difficult question about installing Microsoft Works
Calendar on Win2000.
No one could give me the right answer to solve the problem.
Do you want to try?

Bye and thanks again.

Mar,

I had no idea that solution would work; I just figured it out to answer
your post. Glad it worked.

About your works question, I found your question in the archives using
Google Groups http://groups.google.com You might want to search there
for your answer.

If you don't find it, maybe try asking again in the newsgroup:
microsoft.public.works.win

I don't know anything about Works for Windows 95 or I'd try to help.
Good luck.
