I am trying to network my work computers (3 of them) but on one of the
computers when you click on start you don't see "my network places" Can I put
it there and how?
It is windows XP.

Thanks!

Cathy,

It works for me. Does your odd computer maybe have the Classic Start Menu
instead of the Fisher-Price version?

Just right click on the desktop icon and choose Create Shortcut. Then drag the
shortcut to the Start menu.

When I try to make the shortcut I click on My network places and my choice is
not able to click OK this option is gray?

Sounds like a variant on the corrupt Network Connections wizard.

If that's not it, let's check for all necessary network components and services.

Are there entries in My Network Places? Can you access the other computers?
Can other computers access this one?

Try waiting about 30 minutes. Windows explorer is notoriusly slow especially
if there is anything physically different with this computer. I assume all
the computers are running XP, if that is not true that can also drag out the
time.
