Can I put a decorative border on a column?

I was wondering if anyone knows how I can use a decorative borders (the ones you can select under the page borders tab) on a column. Or even a paragraph! I am trying to split an landscape A4 page into to halves and have a different border on each half.

This is my first time on here so I hope this is clear BUT any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

You can put a page border on the halves of a page if you use the "2 pages
per sheet" option in Page Setup (not in the Print dialog).
