P
Pig
One of the things I like about OE6 is the way is says "Sending..." or
"Receiving..." from/to each POP3 email account and stays in this info
box until the email transfer up/down is actually *complete*.
Outlook XP seems to behave with multiple email accounts completly
differently. It quickly cycles through the multiple acounts and says
"Send/Receive complete" way before the transfers are actually complete.
For example I have a broadband connection and if I send a email with a
500k attachment, the Outlook dialogue box will show *complete* after a
second or two whilst the transfer actually chunters on for several
seconds (as indicated by the network traffic meter). I only know that
the transfer is actually complete when the email finally transits from
the OUTBOX to the SENT folder. This can be many seconds or longer AFTER
the dialogue box says "SEND/Receive complete".
I think at best this is confusing for the user. It says the
send/recieve is complete well before it actually is. This also happens
on inbound where a large email can finally appear in your inbox many
seconds AFTER "Send/recieve" complete is indicated.
Is there any way to configure Outlook XP to show send/recieve progress
and NOT indicate *complete* until the transfer is actually complete?
Also is Outlook 2003 any better with this issue?
Many Thanks, Stefan
