Can I leave Junk mail on the server

I use gmail as my mail host. Google has a splendid junk filter, which does
an awesome job of classifying SPAM. Unfortunately, even though it is
classified correctly, I still receive lots of it. I have Outlook 2003
configured for POP access. Is there anyway to "pick and choose" which emails
I download from the server? In other words, I want to download the mail in
my gmail Inbox, but leave the SPAM in my Junk folder on the server.

If you only download headers you can then pick & choose which items you want
to download and/or delete.

Thanks for the tip, but I would still have to sort through the headers and
delete them, correct? I may as well just download the message because it
doesn't save me any steps.

I can create a flag on my server to identify spam. Is there a way to avoid
downloading messages with specific flags?

POP3 accounts will download from the Inbox folder on the server. If you
configure your web based mail client to put Spam messages into a different
folder Outlook will not download the messages.

Oh, wow, you're right! Thanks!
