Can I get my global address list to go by last name instead of fi.

We've just switched to Outlook 2003 in the office, and my address list has
changed. It used to go by last name (such as Smith, John). Now it goes by
first name (John Smith). Is there a way to change the setting so it will go
back to last name?

Your subject says "GAL", but the above says your address list, which I
presume is your Contacts. I believe the former is controlled on the
Exchange side, but the latter can be changed with Tools>E-mail Accounts>View
or change existing directories or address books>Next. Select the Outlook
Address Book and click Change. Select the display order at the bottom.

Mr. Tillman (and all),

Your response does help some. Forgive me if my message wasn't clear
enough...I'm a far cry from not just an expert, but even an intermediate.

It is my Global Address List I'd like to change, but I don't know if I can.
We used to have it last name, first name. While it's not the end of the
universe, it's definitely a preference to have it that way again.

Your response seems to indicate I'd need to be a higher authority (ie in the
IS Dept.) to switch the GAL. Is that the case? Or is there something I can
do from my desk to get it back to the "good ole days"?

Thanks all.

I believe that's controlled by the Exchange admins.
