When I go to search for files and folders, and when I enter something I look
for on my computer, a box appears near the entry box that shows previous
searches, there are quite a few in there and I want to know can i reset that
so it is not so full?

See tip 3836 » How do I remove the Windows 2000 Search history for files/folders?
in the 'Tips & Tricks' at http://www.jsifaq.com

Delete the numeric-named Reg_Sz string values found at;

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Explorer
Bars\{C4EE31F3-4768-11D2-BE5C-00A0C9A83DA1}\FilesNamedMRU
