Can I build my app on XP and publish to a host server that is running IIS 7 ?

On godaddy I have a choice between using IIS 6 and 7 on their server and was
wondering if I could select IIS 7 and have my stuff still work. Or what
issues there might be and why I might not want to. I am also using SMTP for
the membership part of my app.

So, can I build my app on XP and successfully publish to a host running IIS
7?
