Can /How can I archive public calandars

I have a public folder (calandar) setup so users can go in and enter
appointments that everyone has access to. This public folder has been setup
for a few years and it is growing in size. Is there any way of "archiving"
this old data that is stored in the calandar?
 
switch to a table view, sort by date. Select the older appointments and
either delete or move to a folder in a pst.
