we have Windows 2000 w/ AD, and a VPN between two sites. we have mucked up
our policies to the point where people cannot change their passwords when
prompted. access is denied. the problem used to be localized at the remote
site, on non-win2k machines, but now win98, and XP pro machines are affected
also. at the primary site this was never a problem, but now it is for
non-win2k and XP machines.
I have gone through numerous account settings giving out privelages to
changes passwords, but it never works. the setting takes, but it never allows
users to change passwords. too many people have messed with it, and there is
no way to track what they did (at one point we had 3 administrators.
can privelages be reset to the the original win2k default?
