I installed service pack 4 for Windows 2000 last night,
and it has badly altered how one of my applications (an
obscure earth science software package) performs.

Can a service pack be uninstalled?

Yes, but ONLY if you chose the option to backup existing files.
If you did, you can go to the control panel, add/remove programs.
Find the service pack 4 entry (I don't recall the exact wording, but it's
pretty obvious) and click on the remove button.

If you chose not to backup the files during the service pack installation,
then you're out of luck. Sorry.

.
I need to uninstall also. SP4 burned down my internet
connection. I guess I should have chosen "archive"
and wasted 100's of megabytes so that I could uninstall
if I needed to. Also, is there any way to change the
registry entries so that I can re-install SP3 over
this SP4 mess?
