I have tried the fix using...

http://www.bigblackglasses.com/staff/downloads/autofix.exe

and have gotten no positive results. This is strange
because the scanner and camera wizard used to work until
about the time I installed SP1. Also, when I view
thumbnails, they display with a thick transparent grey
color over top of the thumbnails, so you cant tell what
you are looking at. I am wondering if I should just
remove SP1 unless anyone has any suggestions.

All I can offer is to try again with one step before using autofix.exe.
Since you have already downloaded autofix.exe it should be easy to try it
again.

I. Click on Run, click on Start. A textbox will open, type the following in
the textbox:
REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press Enter.
Note that there is a space between 32 and SHI
This will take just a few second to execute.
After this is done, go to the next step.

II. Go to the following site:
http://www.bigblackglasses.com/staff/downloads/autofix.exe

and download the file autofix.exe in one your folder. Once this is done,
double click on the file. A window will open, follow the directions on the
screen.

III. After you complete the work with autofix.exe, reboot your computer and
then try your camera to see if you now get this autoplay window to open.

When you try this autofix, make sure you have pictures on your camera memory
card.

Let us know if this worked or not.
