I do a lot of digital photography. Until I started having problems
downloading images to my HD (directly from the camera, using the MS
wizard that popped up when I plugged the camera in through the USB
port.) I use two digital cameras and have separate USB connection
cables for each. Last week the box that asked me what I wanted to do
(I always use the MS camera/scanner wizard) stopped popping up on one
of my cameras. One works fine.
I purchased a mass media reader/writer last week and that seemed to
solve the problem. However, now that isn't working either. In fact,
I notice that when I plug in media (a zip drive or CD) that the box
doesn't pop up either. I did not check the box that would do the same
procedures with each device, and I can't figure out any other way to
access the wizard I need to download photos from one of my cameras.
What is going on? I tried the MS Autofix tool. That didn't help.
I use WinXP Pro.
