Ok, heres the setup. Have win XP home edition, 2100
athalon xp, 256ddr ram, msi motherboard.

Whenever I run yahoo chat, and get a PM, my comp freezes
or reboots.

Thats it. That is the only time it happens. WTF!!

Have a new webcam with new software. Plugs in through
case front usb port. Have software that came with it. I
un-installed that and it still happens. Unplugged webcam,
still happens. Unplugged usb cable for cam, still happens.

Any ideas?

Open Control Panel - System - Advanced. Click on the Settings button
in the Startup and Recovery (bottom) section.

In the System Failure (middle) section click on the checkbox for
"Automatically restart" to clear it.

Click on OK and Apply as needed to exit.

That should stop the reboots. However they will probably be replaced
by a Blue Screen Of Death STOP error message. The contents of the
STOP message will be a direct clue as to what is happening.

Post the complete information from the STOP message back here if you
need further advice or assistance.

Good luck

That check box is already clear, and I have tryed looking
in the event viewer for clues, but get nothing.
