I just installed a new creative voice fax modem that
supports caller id functions. HOWEVER, I am not seeing
any caller id numbers come up when someone calls my phone
line. The program is working fine.

Do I need to tell XP to do something to make the caller
ID function work???

No, but you do have to subscribe to the "caller id" option with your local
phone company.

OOps..I knew I would get that reply... I do have the
caller ID option on my phone line enabled... Still not
seeing a caller ID number on my screen when someone
calls... My other phones display the caller ID numbers
and the modem I purchased states the the caller ID
function is automatically enabled. Any ideas why caller
ID is working everywhere else and not on my computer??

You'd be better off asking this question to the manufacturer of said
modem. Also, make sure the h/w and s/w are supported under XP.

Not sure if it helps, but, on mine "Fax Services" under the windows
components in Add/Remove programs did it for me. When I have an incoming
call, I get a little pop-up ballon in the taskbar that will display the
number and allow me to receive it as a fax if I wish.
