Hello... I want to know what happen with the Caller ID features in Windows
Vista Ultimate... I mean..... I used to have Windows XP in my laptop and
Caller ID works great and then I switch to Vista Ultimate and Caller ID is
not working anymore.....

Thanks for the help...

Hi,

The CallerID feature was a function of the modem's supporting software, not
anything provided by XP. You would need to get similar software that is
certified for use in Vista from the device manufacturer.

If you're using the same Caller ID software that you used in XP and it no
longer works... it is likely a modem driver issue. I had / have similar
problems. In my case Vista installed a generic modem driver that defeated
all the speaker phone, caller ID and answering machine capabilities of my
modem. I was able to restore "some" of these functions by installing a
driver provided by in my case Dell but provided to Dell by the modem chip
maker. It may take some trial and error to get your modem running.
