Calendar when you click on time

Is there a way to have the calendar with the clock stay open and visible
when you click on the time in the tool bar?

There is a lot of good information there in one place time and date along
with a nifty calendar and already part of the OS!

No. Use the Windows Sidebar and gadgets instead. There is a clock and calendar gadget.

Drag your taskbar two rows high and Time, Day and Date will show in
the tool tray (if the time is there)
