Is it possible to give the Calendar folder Read permission
to a distribution group or do I have to use a global or
universal group? I always get:
"The modified permissions could not be saved. The client
operation failed."
I'm trying to grant permissions on my personal calendar
which is maintained on the Exchange server.
I'm using Outlook 2002 - Exchange 2000.

This is the exact situation that we are working on. We are using Exchange
2000 in a mixed mode configuration. What I am finding is that by using
global security groups you can apply the permissions to those global
security groups. Check out KB231273. It seems that distribution lists have a
limited function. Security groups by comparison can be used as e-mail
distribution lists. I hope this helps.
