How do i get the sum of hours and minutes in Excel?
For example:

52:06 (fifty-two hours and six minutes) +
27:47 (twenty-seven hours and forty-seven minutes) +
73:52 (seventy-three hours and fifty-two minutes) =
152:105 (one hundred fifty-two hours and one hundred five minutes)

then change 152:105 (one hundred fifty-two hours and one hundred five minutes)
to a correct value of 153:45 (one hundred fifty-three hours and forty-five
minutes)

Please help ... Thanks in advance.

Just add the values. Excel will work it out for you.

enter 52:06 in a cell; it should display as 52:06:00 and, if you check the
formatting it should be [h]:mm:ss. Similarly, enter 27:47 and 73:52. Sum
the three cells and you will get 153:45:00

Trevor

PERFECT ... I knew it was simple, but I was stumped ... Thanks!
One last question: I now need to convert that [hh:mm] figure into a dollar
amount.

For example:

153:45 one hundred fifty-three hours and forty-five minutes) x (times)
$1.30 (one dollar and thirty cents) =
$199.87 (one hundred ninety-nine dollars and 87 cents)

How do I get Excel to auto convert the [:mm] into a decimal value of the
hour?
(i.e. 153:45 (one hundred fifty-three hours and forty-five minutes) to equal
153.75 hours (one hundred fifty-three point seventy-five hours) and then
multiply that by $1.30 (one dollar and thirty cents) to get $199.87).

Hope this isn't too confusing ... Thanks in advance ... again.

153:45:00 * 24 * 1.3 = 199.88 and format as currency = $199.88

I think it is actually $199.875 but it rounds up.

If the hours are in A1 and the money ($1.30) is in A2, then try this in A3:

=(A1*24)*A2

But format it as dollars and cents.
