Ok set the scene, I have put a new w2k server(a year ago) in at a clients and
replicted AD with exisitng server, then took out the exisitng server leaving
the new one in place. The new server has all the correct master of operation
roles, however client logon is proving to be a problem. It seems that old ad
users logon ok but possibly with a cashed logon as it seems to be looking for
an old logon script. A new user created in AD cannot logon. Any ideas anyone ?

Hi,

Here basically the problem lies with the client and DC authentication,
Check for the following,
Netlogon to be restarted at the client end
Nslookup, flusd and register DNS to be run on client.
In the Computers folder of Active Directory users and computer check if the
computer through which the user is logging on is Disabled if so enable it ,
else reset the computer account, join and disjoin the computer from the
Domain.
