Cache mode and shared PC

We are planning on installing Outlook 2003 using the cache mode. We have
several PCs in the company that multiple users sign on to. 1) Will mailboxes
be downloaded for all users on shared machine? 2) Is there any way to
disable cache mode for all sharing a machine? 3) If we don't have all users
using cache mode, is there still a benefit to use it at all?

Thanks

Yes.

Presuming you aren't using roaming profiles, set the mail profiles for each
user on this box so that cached mode isn't used. But unless you have a very
small HD on the computer, there's no real harm in enabling cached mode...

use it at all?

Yes - it can "smooth out the bumps" in a network connection to the server,
and allows you to use junkmail features.

1) This can be configured on a per user basis.
2) Yes, with Group Policies or a prf-file you can enable/disable Cached
Exchange mode. For more info start with the Office Resource Kit
3) Definitely. CEM reduces network traffic and enhances the end user
experience independent of how others have it configured.
