Since 1 week I encounter crc problems opening cab and zip files. My
system says they are corrupted. But I open them from a CD and with my
portable they seem to be ok. When I reboot several times sometimes they
work. It seems that it happens when a big file has to be decompressed
from the cab or zip.
I already checked MB, memory, harddisks and I even changed the IDE
cables. Anybody had the same problem and found a solution?

Thx,

Nic

I had bad RAM. One stinkin' memory module not "remembering" caused large files to throw CRC errors. You can check your memory with a diagnostic from MS: http://oca.microsoft.com/en/windiag.asp
