I've been reading through the threads regarding the 'C00001135 winsrv not
found' error and the resolution (and cause) seem to revolve around SP2 being
installed...

(I've read through 885523 repeatedly)

I am currently getting the error (and unable to get into Safe Mode, etc...
etc....) but I do not have SP2 installed in the regular sense... I do not
have the "$NTServicePackUninstall$" directory off of Windows as described in
875350.

The reason I'm not sure if it is/was installed is that it appears that it
may have been pushed to my laptop while it was unattended and then rebooted.
Or, it may have rebooted in mid-install or caused the install to fail in some
way, leaving it in this particular state.

To add to my problems, my Laptop (Toshiba Portege) has no Floppy or CD Drive
built in, they're accessed via the single PCMCIA slot.

I CAN do the Recovery Console thing and I've been poking around in there,
disabling services, etc, hoping that I could stumble upon a fix...

Please let me know if you have any idea how to fix this...

Thanks!!!!

I'll start looking into this... Keep in mind that I don't have a CD Drive
that can be used while in this state (it is 'portable' and used via a PCMCIA
Adapter) and I also don't have the XP CD... (my corporate IT has that but I'd
prefer to fix my machine locally rather than ship it across the country to
them).

Is there any way that I can look for recovery points while in the recovery
console and overwrite any current files with those saved at a recovery point?
I'm wondering if there is a copy of my registry saved, and if I can manually
overwrite the current one... and if this could be helpful in any way....
