C-media Sound Install

everything is working except my sound card. i check c-
media's site and got the lates update but when installing
it, it says driver invalid and when you bring up the
properties/devices underneath sound video and game it has
multimedia audo controller with and exclamation on it. i
have tried everything i can think of and i was woundering
if anyone else has an idea or a solution. the sound card
is an onboard 8738 6ch c-media chip. thx

1) Have you enabled the C-Media chip in your BIOS?
2) Have you installed the correct C-Media software and driver?

The problem is when i'm trying to install the latest
drivers for the sound chip. the sound card is enabled in
the bios. i have a funny feeling that the m/b is a hunk
of junk. have a a7n8x that i'm going to build offa .
guess i'll wait and do that one. i managed to get sound
by getting one of the old c-media cds i have and
installing the driver for nt 4.0 it says that its not
signed but it manages to get the sound to work.
