Hi, Umm, my sister was trying to install a game on to the comp. She attempted to install it on c:\ (our main and only hard drive) and the message came up saying, 'There is not enough disk space, please select another drive' The game is 420kb, and we have about 31GB of space. This is a very recent problem, first I've heard of it is today

Part two: I think that this problem is linked to the first problem, As I was checking to see if the gamedisk was corrupted (the aforementioned one) and it isn't, as a message comes up saying, 'Invalid Drive, Please select another'. Once again, this is the first i've heard of the problem. Thanks for helping everyone :)

First, from a command prompt run CHKDSK C: /F. When it asks to do this
during the next reboot, type "Y". Then reboot. Watch the blue (not black)
XP boot-time screen for any error messages. If none, then the file system
is probably OK.

Next, is this game several years old, or does its copywrite say 1997 or
earlier? If so, it may have been made for win3.1, win95, or maybe even DOS.
I recently had a problem with an interactive video CDROM. It worked fine on
my circa 1998 computer, even after upgrading to XP. However, it failed to
work on my new PC, also with XP. I contacted the CD maker and they
explained that their software senses the size of RAM and disk before
running. However, it was never designed to handle a system as large as my
new computer. To make the long story short, it was interpreting some large
positive number (+Gigs) as a negative number, and then aborted with a false
error message.

You might want to check with the software vendor to see whether something
similar is happening to you. If so, the only practical fix may be to get
newer version of the game. In my case there was a DVD version that was
sized for circa 2003 computers.
