C drive icon displays but no files show

Recently, Norton Anti Virus started pumping out about 150 error messages saying that I had the Sasser virus in all different files on my C drive. The message was an alert with only an OK button available. When I finally got the messages to stop, and ran an anti-virus check, NAV indicated that my machine was clean. My computer seemed fine until I had occasion to display the files on my C drive. The icon for the C drive displays, but when I click on it, the right panel is completely blank. The files on C still appear to be in place as I can open and use programs that I have installed on C, but I can't see any of them. All my disk diagnostics indicate that the C drive is in fine working condition. Any suggestions
