I noticed a service called C-DillaCdaC11BA running on my machine. I suspect
it's a third party program, that was installed without my explicit
authorization. Does anyone know what it is? Can I safely disable it?

BTW, I have the latest version of AdAware, Norton, etc. and have scanned the
system. Neither program commented on this.

C-Dilla is a form of copy protection (more accurately called
spyware) that keeps track of hardware changes one makes to
their system. If you change e.g. your motherboard or hard
drive then whichever software uses the copy protection will
no longer run.

Macrovision now owns the C-Dilla technology, and a version
of it is used in the new Adobe Photoshop CS. Check
Macrovision's website for a FAQ.

This some form of copy protection software often used by Intuit products such as Turbo Tax.

Also be advised it messes with your ability to burn cd's
and if you remove it, turbo tax no longer works..
but being that it's 2002 I would remove it..
