Hi,

When will version 2.0 (with all the generics, iterators, and anonymous
methods stuff) be available? O:-)

Thanks.

Fernando,

Right now it is in beta. The release date should be sometime early
2005, but it hasn't been locked down yet.

Hello Nicholas,

Does it mean that there's a newer version than the May edition on MSDN
Universal, except for insiders of course, as the May edition is specified to
be not keeping up with the expectations for a Beta edition?

Best regards,

Henrik Dahl

Sahil,

There is no .NET 1.2. It is going from 1.1 to 2.0.

Henrik,

The latest version available to the public is the May community drop.
There are most likely other drops, but as you said, those are for insiders,
and wouldn't be available anyways to the general public.

AFAIK, nobody at Microsoft has claimed that the preview releases (March or
May) available to MSDN Universal subscribers are beta. As I'm in the test
group, I believe I'd have been notified if an actual beta were available.

Well, there *was* a 1.2, but it was an internal build release with longhorn
and maybe very early whidbey or yukon releases.

Yeah, I remember seeing .NET 1.2, and whidbey may preview asked me to remove
that before it would install 2.0 .. so I was like .. uh huh .. I guess MS
killed that.

LOL, ya. If I were to guess I'd say that they simply hadn't incremented the
major version yet
