Buying XP Pro

I may buy XP Pro from e-bay. The seller says it is 2002 retail upgrade it
has never been opened so he does not know if it is sp1 or not. He gave me
the part # which he said is X08-99997 does anyone know if this is sp1 or if
it has any service pack to it by the part number? Or some web site I can go
to find out part numbers for XP Pro Thanks

Can't tell by the part number, but it would be wise
to go ahead and install SP2 immediately after installing
Windows XP.

Thanks, he said that box which is still sealed has version 2002 in the lower
right hand corner on the front of the box.

Thank you, yes I will install sp2, after I install XP Pro upgrade. I am
using W2K Pro right now. My daughter has sp2 on CD she got from Microsoft
and Microsoft said I could use it to install sp2 when I was ready, I guess
that is correct.

Sorry to interupt but just to clear that up it says, on my SP2 CD, to please
share the CD with a friend so yes, you're more than welcome to use the SP2
CD that your daughter had on your computer.
