Buttons reamainin gon the sceen

Hello again,

Over the past few weeks I have found that on occasion, a button I have used
in a program remains "stuck" on the screen after the program has been closed.
This is very annoying and is only cured by a reboot.
I wondered if anyone else had experience of this and how to fix it.

This means that either the program is not exiting properly (if it
happens in just the one program) or Explorer (the Windows graphical
user interface) is not refreshing in a timely manner. The latter often
happens when lots of other programs/processes are running in the
background.

The first thing to do is the normal troubleshooting for viruses and
malware. See the steps here for guidance:

After you know the computer is 100% virus/malware-free, if the problem
persists do clean-boot troubleshooting:
