How do I burn to a rewritable CD? Do I have to erase the whole disc and
then burn the complete data again. Isn't there a way to select only changed
files and just burn them leaving the rest intact?

TIA

You will need to install what is known as "packet writing"
software. Once you have it installed, you can treat a CD-RW as if it were
another standard drive...you can erase and overwrite individual files as
needed. Packet writing software is usually included with suites such as
Roxio EX Cd Creator. In fact, packet writing software may have been
included with the software bundle that came with your burner.

Not true, packet writing simply allows the disk to be treated like a floppy disk or a HDD, and one can add/delete a file right off that disk if formatted as such. What he is asking is if file can be added in addendum to a disk that already has files on it, in which the answer is "yes", as long as there is enough space, and the disk is left open. Many burning software proggies can do this as an option, and XP can do this also, without having to erase the disk, and reburn it in totality.

Using XP's built-in burning tools, you cannot selectively erase files.
Yet you can add to existing DATA files. Sort it all out here...
