Burning photos into a cd-r

Hi There!,
I have Windows XP-Home with SP2, before SP2 I was able to write data or
photos into CD-R without additional software, now impossible!, I have with
musicmatch and it works!
Any help will appreciated,

Check the drive properties in WinExplorer, enable CD recording; make
sure the CD Burning service is started and set to Automatic startup.

I have checked the properties and CD-writing is enabled.
about "automatic start" I don't know where to check.

Start | Run. Type in services.msc, click Ok. Scroll down to the IMAPI
CD-Burning COM Service. Make sure it's started.
 
But what do you do if the IMAPI service keeps turning itself off everytime
you try to copy to CD??
