Please help! re: Office Professional Edition 2003 - I wish to have a copy of 2003 Calendar burnt to disk. I am having a few computer problems and don't trust it so can you please tell me how to burn the whole calendar directly to disk. How do I find where it is located? to drag folder across in Nero

I have worked out how to backup Business Contact Manager - but am not sure if this includes the calendar or not

regards and thanks.

Use Import and Export from the File menu. Set it to export to a file and
choose pst as the file format. Select the Calendar as the folder to Export.
After the export is done close Outlook and burn the pst-file to a CD. When
you want to restore from CD copy the file back to your harddisk and remove
the "Read Only" file attribute.

thankyou, this was helpful but I need to clarify which files to "burn" - when going into My Computer and in the Outlook folder there was no .pst file even though I did exactly as said. The files were Outlook. NKZ, Outlook.srs, Outlook.xml and Outlook.Prnt. I know 2 of the above were created when I did the export as the time related to it. Have I copied the correct thing by copying the whole Outlook Folder if I need to recover my calendar!!

Also is my contacts also copied in this or do I have that in the Backup of The Business Contact Manager which I have already copied over.

Outlook.nk2 (not nkz) and the others are found in C:\Documents and
Settings\{user}\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook. However, your PST is,
by default, found in C:\Documents and Settings\{user}\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook.

If you wish to save all Outlook items, just copy the PST in that directory
to some other place. If you wish to save just your calendar items, create a
new PST with File>New>Outlook Data File and copy the calendar folder from
the old PST to the new. Then close the new PST, stop Outlook, and copy the
new PST to some other place.
