I just burned my first CD-R and have been trying to view
the contents to see that it's done properly. (It's a
backup of my Quicken files). When I put it into the CD
rom player, it shows the files the disc contains, but I
can't open them. How do I do that?

Quicken won't read the files? You can't go to Quicken and use File>Restore
Backup? (or is that Restore File? I don't remember exactly -- but you get
the idea) How are you burning the files? Drag and drop packet writing?
ISO format?

Hi Fran,

Normally, you should be able to double click the file and it will open.
Alternately, you can r-click the file and select "Open". If that don't work,
please post back to this thread and give more details, what program you used
to burn the CD, etc.

These files are password protected and as backup files are read though a
opened Quicken program . Check you cd-r burning quality though a different
basic file burn. Jym
