Silly question maybe, i was considering wearing surgical gloves, them
disposable ones, when building my PC....would you advise it or not?

Surgical gloves and balloons are both made out of rubber. Remember rubbing a
balloon on your head to build up static electricity and then sticking the
balloon on the ceiling? Well those surgical gloves can build up a static
charge just as easily so I would say forget the gloves. You're better off
using your bare hands. If you're really concerned about static damaging your
computer components then I suggest you buy a grounding strap, especially if you
live in a dry climate. I personally didn't use one but I happen to live where
the air doesn't get too dry. I was also careful not to touch any of the
electrical contacts.

what about a wet suit, they dont build up static...........make sure its dry
though............perhaps a dry suit.......

Not.

I usually get clothed as soon as I'm out of the bed. So when I'm building
new configurations or updating older ones, I'm already wearing
trousers, a shirt and a pull-over if the weather is cold. I also use to wear
slippers when at home. Should I operate on a computer outside home, I'll
wear leather shoes. I don't like sport's ones. Again, depending on the
weather conditions, I may have a coat.

Does this help you ?

High heels, a g-string, and a sombrero. Don't ask, just do.

And be sure to call the local media to see if they want to do a story
on somebody building a computer! ;-)

That's not necessary. All he needs to make me a happy man is a web cam.
