Hi

I am getting an Exception and trying to fix as MS suggest

From C# help this comes

If I try

DateTime dd;
dd.Minute = 2;

I get System.DateTime.Minute is ReadOnly

How is this suppose to work???

Thanks

Try string date = DateTime.Now.ToString() and then edit the string, to what
ever information you need, the try parsing the string back to a datetime.

I don't know who MS is but they told you wrong.

//To create a new DateTime object do this:

DateTime dt = new DateTime(2000, 1, 25);
//year---------------------^ ^ ^
//month--------------------------
//Day-------------------------------|

//Or this:

dt = new DateTime(2000, 1, 25, 13, 25, 0);
//year------------^ ^ ^ ^ ^ ^
//month-----------------
//Day----------------------
//Hour-------------------------
//Minute---------------------------
//Second-------------------------------|

Good luck with your project,

Hi,

The Minute property of a DataTime structure is readonly. We could not set a
value to this property.

To build a DataTime value, we could call the constructor of DateTime and
specify each part of the date/time in the constructor, or call the static
Parse method of DateTime passing a string representation of a date and time
to it.

The following is a sample.

DateTime dt1 = new DateTime(2007, 2, 8, 12, 30, 30);
DateTime dt2 = DateTime.Parse("2007/2/8 12:30:30");

Hope this helps.
If you have any question, please feel free to let me know.

Sincerely,
Linda Liu
