Hi everyone,
I have a major issue and I cannot figure out what the problem is. I have one
NT box, 2 Win2k servers, and one 2003 Server. I'm about to start the
migration to active dir. but for some reason when I browse the network from
the NT box I cannot see any of the other computers in the domain. When I
browse from any client computer I cannot see the NT box either, but if I do a
search for the NT box from any PC, I can see it. If I search from the NT box
for any PC on the network I cannot find any computer. I have no idea wht the
problem is, can anyone out there help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
David

Couple of thoughts...

1) Is WINS installed on one of the servers and is it in good health? (All
are part of the same domain/workgroup.)

2) On Win2K and newer, there is an option on the WINS tab of TCP/IP to turn
on/off NETBios over TCP/IP. That setting needs to be on in order for the
NT4 box to see/connect. (Note: Microsoft 2K or newer DHCP can control the
NETBios setting for DHCP clients.)
