Browser Limiting concurrent dowloads?

I download a lot of files for the Sims 2 and have noticed that I can't
download more than two files at a time and also if I have two files
downloading and click on a link for a new page on a site, the page will not
load until one of the files has completed the download process. I remember
when I used to could have numerous files, even ten or more downloading at
once with no problems. Granted this was a few years ago but is there a
reason why I am now limited to only two? Is it fixable? It's definitely a
bother since now it takes so long to get stuff.

Thanx in advance, chrissy

That's bogus!
You don't need to edit the registry.
I'm having the same problem and I seem to remember a setting, but God help
me if I can find it now!

Who are you replying to?

What do you consider bogus?

If you mean the limit of two threads at a time it is NOT bogus, it is a
requirement of an RFC as detailed in the Microsoft Links provided in the
post you quoted, and no there is not a setting and as far as I know has
never been a setting in IE6.

Not bogus at all. Unless you have a REG file or script to do the job you
have to edit the Registry.
