Browing Problems.. PLEASE HELP!

A few days back I wanted to upload something onto the internet, so as usual, I saved it to a folder in My Documents. I left the computer for a while, and came back and decided to resume what I was doing. When I went to the site, I pulled up the Browse menu, and it came up as usual, however, after a few lingering moments it disappeared, and my AOL application shut off too. I tried again later, but it did the same thing. I even tried on Internet Explorer, and there was still no effect. Now, every time I open Windows Explorer or any Browse menu with an application, it closes the application. I tried restoring my computer back to March 31, but it doesn't do any good.

Please help me out! This is so stressful it's killing me!
