I am broadcasting an email, but it fails, and I get the statement "too many
recipients". Why?

and more importantly, how do I get around this and get my email out???

Thank you!!!

This is a message that comes back from the e-mail server when the message
contains to many names in the To + CC + BCC field. Therefore you either
have to address the message to fewer people or contact whomever runs the
server and see what can be done.

Call your e-mail provider to ask what is their anti-spam quota regarding
maximum recipients per message.

Use Word's MailMerge to send out a separate e-mail for each recipient.
However, you might also encounter another anti-spam quote by your e-mail
provider, one that limits how many mail sessions are allowed per minute.

You might find some useful bulk mailing software mentioned at
http://www.slipstick.com/. Be sure to use one that throttles the rate
at which its spews your bulk mails to avoid hitting your e-mail
provider's anti-spam quotas; else get a business account with them for
higher quotas or use a bulk mailing service.
