Broadband Networking doesn't quite work

Hi - lots of problems with broadband networking on XP Pro
using Microsoft Base Station attached to my machine and a
wireless PCI adapter in my wife's desktop machine
upstairs. 1 - we can both access the internet just fine
via the DSL modem plugged into the base station.
2 - I can see her machine's hard drive but she can't see
my machine at all. Not my hard drive or my printers. I
have shared them all, botht he hard drive as a complete
drive and individual folders.
3 - The Broadband Network Utility on her machine shows
the right network & internet connection but shows no
network devices at all.
4 - Windows Explorer on her machine sometimes shows the
network (called HOME) and sometimes it doesn't. Even if
it does, it says that she doesn't have access to it.

I've tried all the problem determination menus etc with
no success. How do I make her machine see mine, please?
Cheers - John Mycroft

PS - Sorry about the earlier truncated post.

Make sure that there are no firewalls (XPs native or 3rd party) running on
either machine. The base station should have the only firewall running. Did
that help?

Thanks for the tip - I'll try disabling McAfee Firewall
when we've finished work tonight. I just disabled it on
my machine which stopped me seeing Susan's so at least it
is "not working" consistently!

Cheers - John

Hi!
You're spot on. Thanks - I have disabled the firewall on
both machines and everything works great (though I did
have a bit of a weirdo yesterday afternoon which I think
I can blame on my ISP).
I'm now faced with deciding whether to get my money back
from McAfee for the firewall I bought last week or to
mail in the rebate voucher from Microsoft. Decisions,
decisions!
Cheers - John Mycroft
