These sound strange, but are a good possibility in the future. As part of a university project we had to design a platform capable of doing this, although opted for a 20 day endurance UAV which was solar powered - sounds crazy, I know, but there are working versions such as HELIOS
Sounds great to me (Telecom NZ is not my favourite company on the planet at the moment anyhow) & the speed sounds great, as a researcher I spend a ridiculous amount of time waiting even on high speed (for NZ anyway) broadband. but wouldn't they be a bit vulnerable to weather disruptions?
That's some serious speed. It even knocks the Satellite downlink off the mark.
Mind you , the service that some of the Mainland providers are advertising are on par with Satellite proposals, and they're a darn sight cheaper.
Worth keeping an eye, then setting up a a small locally hosted service to share the subscriptions.
Anyone starting a list of names???
