having tried installing wireless networking between 2 xp
computers in my home and causing myself nothing but
problems i am wondering if i installed a 2nd broadband
modem to the second pc would this work on the same
telephone line but on a different phone socket. My problem
only exists due to the fact that the pc running broadband
is my son's,installed in his bedroom and i as he is still
at school i don't want to leave his pc on permanently.

Why did you have grief with Broadband and Wireless networking,I know the
co's say they dont support networking but believe me it can be made to
work, having got a linksys 54g set up.,any of my 4 computers can now access
the net, whereas
before only one could, the wireless router is the best way as your sons
computer would not need to be on as the router is seen by the Broadband
supplier as "The Computer" and all connections downstream of that are not
seeen by the ISP
