Broadband connection/wanadoo

Please HELP
Trying to upgrade from freeserve dialup to wanadoo broad band
when loading disc click on speedtouch software ERROR MESSAGE THE
INSTALLSHIELD ENGINE could not be installed(ikernel.exe)
IKERNEL.exe could not be copied to c:\program files\common files\install s
hield\engine\6\intel32'
Have been trying for three weeks ,have tried alternative disc,it appears
that some items have loaded "ie" logos on start up etc.

Put the modem safely away in the cupboard and invest in an adsl
router to handle the ppp negotiation with your ISP. If you can afford
broadband you can afford one of these and won't regret it.
